You can nail sharp shots at close range too thanks to a minimum focus distance of just 2.4 m at 600 mm, and 1.3 m at 180 mm.

You can travel lighter than expected, and the internal zoom allows balanced handheld shooting: zoom in or out, and then pan or tilt, all without a tripod. For fast-moving action, SPORT Mode stabilises the viewfinder image, making it easier to acquire rapid or unpredictable subjects.

Sometimes, you just need as much reach as you can get. Stack Nikon’s lightweight Z series 2.0x teleconverter on this super-telephoto zoom lens and you can extend your reach to 1200 mm. Or go to 840 mm with the Z series 1.4x teleconverter. There’s no loss of image quality: the lens’ six ED glass elements reduce axial chromatic aberration even when using a teleconverter.
